I Did Things
Today using blender I modelled a low polly space ship to render out as the sprite for my game. I made a very simple shader graph for the player, I then changed the main colour and rendered again for the enemy. Almost all I had to do next was flip it horizontally to face the player. I may end up rendering two more sprites for the player "moving_up" and "moving_down" I think
The player and enemy sprites
This is my enemy ship and its shader graph, The glass shader Is just a principled bsdp with a light blue tint and a low roughness
Yesterday I was in Garageband and created the background music, I wanted to wait to add it so I could add all the assets together. I made the explosion sound using VITAL as a vst with Garageband.
I used 2 default oscillators(OSC) one for the main sound and one to drive the effect channel. I have a chorus and reverb set up. I find that with the driver of the effects being identical to the main sound, it organizes the randomness of the chorus effect to be neater/cleaner and cool
Other things I did were change the envelope and using a filter. I dont know a lot about sound design so I cant really explain what I did in the best way but I hope I got my thought process across. I also changed the score system so as the enemy ship flies faster the player will get more score a second.
In Conclusion
Today went pretty well in terms of my project. Does it look perfect, nope but Id say I had fun with It. I love the problem solving aspect of both coding and modelling and than bringing that together in a intractable application is dope.
